FREE ZONES & NON-RESIDENT COMPANIES- UAE
These two categories characteristically differed from one to another hence, are the only two forms that would allow establishing 100% foreign own companies. Yet, Free zones are considered as onshore companies with some offshore characteristics, rendering the benefits from DTAA and receiving UAE residence visas. Non-resident Companies are commonly known as Offshores, is the best for cross-participation of assets worldwide, although intending to operate outside its registered jurisdiction with no eligibility for residence visas.
MAINLAND COMPANIES - UAE
New activities in the Mainland are encouraged by the authorities and will be granted to do business in any part of the UAE. Export and manufacturing industries are strongly supported by the government. No matter the type of Mainland company you want to establish, a UAE national is required as local sponsor for your business by law. However, the local sponsor has to agree to refrain from intervention in the business and profit sharing. As the owner, you may hire staff or apply for UAE residence visas for yourself and dependents such as family members.
